David Batchelor

Founding Partner

I am the Founding Partner at Wills and Trust and started the company in 1992 when my Nan left me £9000 in her Will. It was that small legacy that I used to start the company.

Previously President of the Life Insurance Association, I co-founded the Personal Finance Society where I was a Director for a number of years. The PFS as its now known has over 23,000 members and supports Financial Advisers across the country. As well as working with existing and new clients, I am a highly regarded public speaker on legal and financial matters and am regularly asked to host and speak at conferences all over the world.

I have three children aged 35, 33 and 9, and so I know how important it is to plan for the generation to come. While I do love my children I will always say that they are competing for my first love…Jazz. I have been a jazz drummer since the age of 10, and would probably rather be doing that than coming to the office. In fact you might notice the names of our meeting rooms reflect my love of music!
